Chief Anthony Morales receives the State Acknowledgement and Resolution for the San Gabriel Band of Mission Indians

1995
LA Times article noting Chief “Sparky” Fred Morales passed away

1997
Tribe receives the Community Block Grant and help the Native Community for 26 years (ends in 2023)

1999 
California passes the California Indian Self Reliance Act- Allowing Gambling for Federally Recognized tribes which led to factions in the Gabrieleno Tongva Community and Law
